Ten-year-old Takuya has a new job: to look after his baby brother Minoru. Since his mother passed away, Takuya has had to take care of Minoru while their father works long hours. Takuya and his friends share a beach house over summer vacation and encounter Moriguchi's grandma who loves the beach and dislikes childcare. When Minoru and other toddlers get lost in the woods, she comes to their rescue. Takuya also takes care of a neighbor's talking parakeet, which delights Minoru. Trouble ensues when Minoru is tempted to let the parakeet out of its cage.
