A timeless tale about a beloved animal, The Legend of the Panda is an original Chinese folk tale that tells the story of how the panda came to have its distinctive black-and-white coat through the love, bravery, and sacrifice of a young shepherdess. The story is beautifully illustrated by Song Nan Zhang, depicting the ancient Wolong Valley in Sichuan province, and is retold by Linda Granfield with added information about pandas and conservation efforts.
